When Neo agreed to join the team, he was trained to become a member of the group. A socket at the back of his skull allows knowledge to be uploaded into his mind. Through the connection, he learned martial arts disciplines and even demonstrates his fighting skills by sparring with Morpheus in the virtual reality that is somewhat similar to the Matrix. He impressed the group with his speed. In his future trainings, Neo was introduced to the dangers inside the Matrix. The injuries he suffered are like in the real world, which means that if he is killed inside the Matrix, his physical body will also die.

Matrix Plot (Part 2 of 6)

It’s 2199 and humanity is fighting against machines that were created in the early 21st century. Thick black clouds conquered the sky due to the attempt by humans to cut off the supply of solar power. The machines used human beings as their energy source. People in pods are used to absorb bioelectrical energy and body heat. 1999 is the world which Neo inhabited and he is now living in an illusory stimulated reality construct due to the birth of the Matrix. The group of Morpheus can unplug others from the matrix and include them in their team against the machines. According to Morpheus, Neo is “The One” that was predicted to end the war between the humans and machines through his limitless control over the Matrix.

Matrix Production Team Part I

Warner Bros. Studios and Australian Village Roadshow Pictures co-produced The Matrix. The scenes were filmed at the Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia and in the city itself. If you happen to notice, popular landmarks were excluded to be able to maintain the setting of a generic American City. On the other hand, tourism spots such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, AWA Tower, Martin Place and Commonwealth Bank Branches are visible in some shots. The Subtle nods were included to Chicago, Illinois, the home city of the directors, through place names, city maps, and a subtly placed picture of the Sears Tower.

The Matrix Reloaded – Persephone Part II

41.jpg

In Mythology, Persephone was a gorgeous woman who was abducted by Hades, lord of the Underworld. Finally she agreed to stay with Hades, but Persephone’s mother, Demeter, wanted Persephone back. She had a talk with Hades – and a compromise was reached. Because Persephone had already eaten some pomegranate seeds, she could not return fully. Persephone would stay with Hades for half the year, when it would be cold and dark (i.e. winter). Then she would come up to be with Demeter for half the year (i.e. summer).

The parallels for this story are several. First, in both cases Persephone is a beautiful woman paired up with a powerful man who controls dark forces. The man works against the aims of the free will of indivduals. The idea that Persephone is trapped because she ate pomegranate seeds is similar to the red pill choice Neo had to make – Persephone undoubtedly understands the nature of the Matrix, but has chosen to stay within it.

The Matrix Reloaded – Persephone

First, the movie Persephone. Played by Monica Bellucci, Persephone is the wife of Merovingian. Neo and crew are told by the Oracle to talk with Merovingian because he holds the “Keymaster” – and the Keymaster is who they need to open a special door to get the answers they need. He opens a gateway to new knowledge.

Merovingian refuses to give up the Keymaster, and talks to them about choice and lack of choice. He demonstrates that he gave a gorgeous woman some food to make her super-horny, and that she has no choice about her feeling this way. He then of course proceeds to go and “take advantage” of her in this state. Persephone has had enough at this point, and tells Neo that she will give him the Keymaster – in return for a REAL kiss. Neo is unsure but agrees to do it.

The Matrix Reloaded – City of Zion

37.jpg

First, the movie. In the Matrix series, Zion is mentioned in the first movie and actually visited in the second. It is where all humans that have been rescued from the Matrix “battery system” go to live. It is a sacred location that they protect fiercely, with thick walls, battlements and guns. In the Matrix Reloaded it is the subject of an all-out attack by the machines.

Now, the “real” Zion. Zion is a section of Jerusalem which held a fort run by the Jebusite. The fort was in the southeast area of Jerusalem. The Jebusite had no desire to turn this over to the incoming Jews who were leaving Egypt.

Filming Specifications and Outcomes

Many scenes from this movie had been a combination of the hired artists’ previous works. For example, the fighting scenes were choreographed by Yuen Woo-ping, whose brother Yuen Cheung-Yan was choreographer on Daredevil (2003) where Ben Affleck starred in. Therefore, similarities in movements in both movies could’ve been inevitable.

And also, because of its “bullet time” technique, many movies such as Swordfish had copied the move. Because of its prominence, there were also a number of exaggerated and comical versions of the certain movement. These are some of them:

a.) Scary Movie
b.) Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo
c.) Shrek
d.) Kung Pow: Enter the Fist
e.) The Simpsons
f.) Family Guy
g.) Conker’s Bad Fur Day

Matrix Movie Trivias Part II

• During the combat training before Keanu Reeves starts with his fight attacks on Morpheus, he made a similar mannerism of Bruce Lee where he rubs his nose with his thumb and finger. He did this before he attacks his opponents. Keannu Reeves improvised the popular move.
• Did you know that the guns for Keannu Reeves in the lobby sequence and the elevator sequence were actually lightweight weapons? John Bowring, the weapon provider revealed this. The team made a very good cast of MP5K that is only weighs 150-200 grams. They want Keanu to easily carry them without thinking much about the weight.
