This is a great quote from the first Matrix movie and fantastic to apply to real life. After all, isn’t it true? As we go through each hour, every day, week, month, etc. we make choices that will create and becoming what we can call the tapestry that is our life. So of course, in looking at our life, we examine the choices we have made and try to see if these are in according with the way we want to live our lives.

No one knows for sure what he or she is meant for in life. Some are fortunate enough to have a clear idea of who they want to be and how to get there. Others are a little more confused a little longer. It is in this quest to discover the meaning of one’s life the one tries to identify his or her path. And it is in this effort that one derives pain and joy.

Life Lesson # 3

So one does not have to dissect the Matrix movies or to look at each and every line in order to get a life lesson from it. One of the main story lines throughout the three movies can serve as out life lesson # 3. And this is that Love is Important, possibly the meaning of life itself. Neo’s relationship with Trinity from beginning to end and the importance of this event in Neo’s life fully supports this.

As we pass through our lives, we will no doubt gather experiences, meet new people, create and recreate goals and dreams but it cannot be denied that there is one thing that every person strives for whether they know it consciously or not, and that is the pursuit of love and happiness. Once a person has this, it is interesting to see how and what he or she will give up for it. So it is not hard to understand this third life lesson nor is it hard to accept that, indeed, love is the root of life.

Matrix: One of the 90′s Hit Movies

Matrix is the movie that a lot the of 90’s kids will not forget. It is one of the most well liked high tech fiction movies that captured the minds of many. It is a widely loved film around the globe and made a mark in history.  It is so popular that even if you do a guessing game in a Thais school, kids in that Thais classes who were born in the nineties will easily guess it.

People dig it from Keanu’s famous Matrix moves, bending the body backwards and avoiding bullets to hit him, to the adventures he had in that movie. It was a mind blowing movie in 1999 as technology has only been starting to improve that time. The movie started to gain fans, both boys and girls, young and old, Matrix truly had an impact to many. The following are few interesting Matrix trivia that you may want t o know.

Trinity, the main cast in the movie had the same weapon as the agents called Desert Eagle. There was scene where Neo had to go to a place, the plate number in that scene had a verse , Mark III no. 11. There are also hidden things in every scene like the name Kym will be noticed. That name is actually the costume designer of the movie

Looking at Another Lesson

Can the body exist without the mind?”

That is a good question. As we see more and more rising incidents of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and other diseases, we need to stop and really look at what it is we are doing to our bodies. There is no doubt that we have advanced in technology in gigantic leaps and bounds over the past decade alone, nevermind the past 25 years. But it seems we are lagging behind in focusing and nurturing and caring for our bodies in the same way that we have fed and cultivated our minds.

Health professionals are using all media available to drive a point across: that we need to change the way we eat, the amount of activity we get daily, our lifestyle in order for our bodies to catch up with our fast-working minds. As the story showed that once the consciousness was cut, the person died, so we see that the body cannot live without the mind.

Second Lesson from ‘The Matrix’

In line with the exercise of taking life lessons from the movie “The Matrix’, let’s take a look at lesson number two. This lesson can be taken from an overall theme of the movie: some things may not be as they appear or some things are more complex than at first glance.

Life is a funny thing. You can do your best to prepare for eventualities. if you are the kind of person fondly refereed to as a ‘control freak’, this is a normal exercise. You will soon find though that there is just no way to prepare for everything. Sometimes you think you have it all figured out when in fact the reality is something else entirely. You thought you were ok in your understanding but, upon exposure, you realize that what really is is so much bigger and better.

The lesson here is to never take things at first glance because sometimes they are so much more.

First Lesson from ‘The Matrix’

There are some movies that are so profound that no matter how many times you watch them it always seems like you are watching for the first time. There are some movies that may not be as profound but you can still glean some very important life lessons. For avid fans of ‘The Matrix’ movies, there are lessons that can be taken away and applied to one’s life.

There is a quote from Morpheus in the movie “You need to let it all go, Neo; Fear, doubt, and disbelief. Free your mind.” This is the first lesson we will take and apply to life in the real world. There is no bigger hindrance to one’s progress than oneself. Fear, doubt, and disbelief are the main contributors to cutting oneself off at the knees. Being able to step beyond these things, being able to find the courage and the confidence to forge ahead through life’s trials, is an important life lesson a person can take from the movies.

A Look Back at The Matrix

There are some movies that fade into obscurity. There are some that become classics; those movies that a person can find a copy of twenty years down the road; those movies your children and possibly their children will want to watch and enjoy. Then there are those movies that do not make it big in the box office but develop a steady and loyal following. These are called cult classics.
For the movies of today, there is a great dependence on what computer graphics can do. It is easy to see why. No other time in cinema history has it been possible to portray magical worlds or computer –based stories than today. The Matrix movies is a trilogy that is exactly that- a story successfully told with the help of computer graphics. But this set of movies is great because the story itself is good too. Star Wars and Star Trek Movies, The Lord of the Rings movies, and even comic book character movies are some movies also known for their good storytelling and graphics.

The underwhelming Matrix sequel

The first Matrix was one hell of a film. It helped redefine science fiction for the new generation by incorporating not just western science fiction references but also styles from Japanese manga, anime and wuxia movies. The Matrix was revolutionary and it became the bar by which “cool” movies were measured.
It’s a shame that the two subsequent sequels failed to live up to the promise of the first movie and even damaged its potential to become a classic much like the Star Wars have become over the years. It’s going to take a few more years to find out if The Matrix’s reputation does survive the effects of the poorly received sequels.

Interpretations of the Movie

The movie itself had been said to have many different interpretations. One of them is that of the “Postmodern” thought. It is an allegory defining the possible result of a media-crazy, modern world. It emphasizes the movie’s storyline of a computerized world.

Another interpretation is that of a French artist, psychoanalyst, and feminist theorist namely Bracha L. Ettinger. Some of her principles have been in debates:

a.) psychoanalysis
b.) postmodernism
c.) feminist theory
d.) gaze
e.) aesthetics
Lastly, it had been said to have been inspired from different films like Japan’s Ghost in the Shell, Strange Days, Dark City, The Truman Show, Grant Morrison’s comic series The Invisibles, Doctor Who, and The Deadly Assassin.

Matrix Plot (Part 6 of 6)

It was at that moment when Neo finally saw the Matrix as it really is. It is composed of lines of streaming green code. He was finally declared as “the One“. Agent Smith attempted to attack him physically for the last time, but the punches were effortlessly blocked and he was destroyed by Neo. The two other agents flew away and Neo returned to the real world just in time when the ship’s EMP weapon to destroy the Sentinels had already breached the hull of the shift. There was a short epilogue that shows Neo back in the Matrix making calls promising that he will demonstrate to the people that were imprisoned in the Matrix that “anything is possible“.
